You are now under my protection, and I yours

We are converged inside the temple. Sahir awoke from his slumber likely by the hand of fate. I assumed somewhere within a bell had tolled and informed him energetically that Kaito had arrived. He walked out from the private rooms, dressed in only linen pants that hung low, revealing the V line. His skin golden, his inky curls shiny and tousled, I was glad I wouldn’t have to wait another night. It had been torture hanging back from him, pretending he didn’t make my whole body scream for attention. My body felt flooded with attention. My cells were open and leaning into both men, like the sunflowers do with the sun.

“Is this him?” Sahir asked me pointedly.

I went to speak but slowly and quietly Kaito went and stood in front of me, offering his hand to shake. “I am pleased to make your acquaintance, I am Kaito. I have returned to the Priestess to serve.”

My eyebrow arched while I observed, learning my new man in real time. For as quiet as he looked, he didn’t fold in the presence of Sahir. He was meeting him man to man, with little pride and all the grace. He also leaned forward enough as though to bow, a sign of respect. They proceeded to do a forearm shake while Kaito cast his eyes down in respect and Sahir looked on boldly, daringly.

“I love her you know,” Sahir starts with a serious tone. None of his usual cheek.

Kaito stared at him straight on, hands folded behind him, back ramrod straight. “And I have loved her throughout time…”

They let is hang between them, and neither seemed able to refute the other. I felt a respect current running between them. Despite their differences, Sahir would have walked all over Kaito if he didn’t seem scared of death himself. And for a man like Sahir, he knows of men with war in their eyes. Even if that war is soft and poetic, dressed in fine silks.

Seeing my opportunity I ordered the men follow me. I led them further into the sanctum, past the scriptorium, and the exit to the pool of vows. We entered the moon altar room. A room with a domed ceiling open to the stars and a wide central altar. The altar was grey with white and gold sigils drawn upon it. It held a history of my other lifetimes as a Priestess across time. The room was dimly lit by sconces across the wall, and the light from the dome provided an ethereal view upon the altar. As though the very air was soaked in magic.

“My good men. I am aware that triads do not come often, and are very rarely blessed. My name is Priestess Saphara and anything you have heard about me, you leave it before the walls of this temple. I have earned the right through sacred service to exist as a sovereign woman, a woman who is larger than life and not made to be tamed.” I paused and my heart swelled seeing both men listening with their ears and with their hearts. “To be with a Priestess like me is not a journey for the ego. I will not choose between you, for a union of three is my birthright.”

My eyes drifted to Sahir, waiting to see any rebuttals. His eyes blazed with the intensity of a thousand suns. His eyes were welled, and I was honoured by his vulnerability.

“I have travelled here in search of a healer, but I was not aware I was entering the presence of the Gods. You have been blessed, I see that now. And having felt your healing hands and felt your commitment to cosmic justice, how could any diety refuse you? How could I refuse you?” He stepped forward and offered his hands face up. “I would let you bind me until the end of time to work for you if that is what you needed. If you will take me as a lover, that would be the highest honour.”

Kaito left it for a moment, respecting Sahir’s moment. However he also stepped up and emulated the gesture. “And I vow to protect your heart, protect your soul, protect your softness and your vulnerability.”

My heart felt like it could burst out of my chest in joy. My eyes softened. I went and cupped Sahir’s face, leaning up to kiss him. Sahir was only built for burning passion so his kiss deepened before my mind had a moment to collect itself. He cupped my face with both his hands in a move that spoke of great tenderness. In his arms my own thoughts got blurry, my body responsive to his. His body ran hot, increasing the heat between us. I pulled away with much effort, even for a Priestess like myself. He gave me one more kiss on my sternum. Something he had started doing once he was lucid enough. His signature if you will.

I went and stood in front of Kaito. His eyes welcomed me and his hand came to hold me loosely at my hip. I pulled his face towards me. His kiss was tentative at first. As though requesting permission to enjoy, permission to be bold. He whimpered when I bit his lip and he deepened the kiss in kind. His movements were precise and it felt safe to be in my body. The kiss ended and he kept his forehead rested on mine for a second. I could swear he was in disbelief that our lips had finally met in this life.

“My moon and my stars,” he whispered reverently.

I asked both men to strip, and I followed suit. To come into union, to make a sacred vow, it must be done without defences. It must be done with hearts bare. We settled by the altar closest to the triad symbol that had been shown to me in a dream. I gave each man a clean blade. In a chest in the far corner I opened some twine of a rare gold. This was reserved for blessed unions only. I also added to a chalice some ceremonial wine. Once gathered, I started with a prayer.

The prayer invoked the gods, the ancestors and every past self. I asked that we be witnessed under the eye of the Lunar Eclipse. We each sliced our palms per my instruction. We held the hands to our hearts, and I began the vows with each man repeating after me. We then held each other with the bloodies hands, with each hand grabbing another’s wrist in formation. I wrapped the twine over us loosely. It was never meant to be perfect. The magic always had a way of taking form.

I repeated the last of the blessings. With my final words, the twine seemingly wrapped itself on each of our wrists, leaving a brand like a tattoo bracelet. The sensation of the branding was like a magic power surge entering through that arm, straight to the heart. Tears flowed freely between us from the sacredness of the moment. We had a lot to discuss and organise but we had forever to do it, together.

With our hands free, both men held the large chalice and poured some wine into my throat. It was a delicious offering. Both men had their turn and because there was still come left over, we repeated the process. My sex was wet and glistening at the magic of the moment, at the presence of two men I had only dreamt of being able to have. Kaito kissed the inside of my wrist slowly and reverently moving up my arm. Sahir kissed my neck on the other side. I let my moans reverberate through the temple walls.
